Week 3 - João Sanches

Hi,

This is my first weekly post about CosmicDelivery, a game my team and I will be developing in the Game Development Methodology course.

In this week, we developed a design document about our game, and I consider that everyone contributed a bit in every aspect of its development. However, everyone focused on a diferent part of the work as a way of making the whole process more quick and efficient.

I, for example, prioritized the part which covered the core experience of our game, where we defined the goals and criterias to evaluate those goals. We came up with 4 goals and 4 criterias and we think it's a number thats not too high or too low for the overall project.

I also prioritized defining the core game loop(s) and game mode(s) of our game and we just came up with one game loop and one game mode, in part because our game is based on a simple idea (and that is the mouse-dodging skills).

The game engine we agreed  to work on for this project is GameMaker 2, because our game is 2D ( and this engine excels at that) and because we don't have much experience developing games (so we want to start by using simple engines!)
